Miami University is excited to announce the expansion of the Jr. RedHawks Hockey program. Since fall of 2006, Goggin Ice Center staff, on behalf of Miami University, has operated the Jr. RedHawks Hockey program. This program focused on the development of players through the mite and squirt house leagues and prepared players to play travel hockey with Butler County Youth Hockey. During this time, BCYHA was run as an independent entity, which has used Goggin as it’s home ice but has not fully benefitted from the hockey expertise that Miami University can offer. Starting in the spring of 2016, Miami Jr. RedHawks will expand into travel hockey at the A & AA levels and into recreational hockey at the B level. BCYHA will be consolidated into the new Miami program which will be called Miami Youth Hockey.
We are eager to apply the full resources of Miami University to the development of high quality hockey players. Miami has a long, rich tradition and high standards for developing elite athletes and individuals both on and off the ice. Miami Youth Hockey and our committed members joining the Miami Hockey family will follow these traditions and will live up to the high standards set.
